Company History
TEMPLETONS was formed to provide life, disability and income
protection insurance and estate planning advice when the late Bob
Templeton joined forces with John Miller, Peter Lauder and Diarmid
Mackiehan in 1982.
One of the reasons the group chose the name "Templetons" was due
to Bob's reputation as a well-known Australian sporting identity in
the world of Rugby Union and as a respected business leader
particularly throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Templetons
became a well known company with many people in the business and
professional communities throughout Australia electing to use its
services.
Although Bob Templeton passed away on 5 December 1999,
Templetons continued to prosper as new personnel joined the team.
One of these was Anthony Jones who, in recent years, operated our
financial strategy business in conjunction with John Miller and
Peter Lauder.
In September 2010, Tranzact purchased a majority share of the
business with Peter Lauder moving into well earned retirement but
with John Miller and Anthony Jones continuing to provide their
services to Templetons' clients and leadership to its staff.
With the support of a listed parent and with a new leadership
team, Templetons is set to continue to build on the legacy that
commenced almost 30 years ago.
